Have You Decided On Your Blogging Frequency?

There are many varied opinions on the frequency of posting on your Blog, depending on the goal of your Blog. Have you given it much thought?

Susan Gunelius of About.com advices:-
  • For maximum growth: post multiple times per day to drive the most traffic
  • For steady growth: post at least once per day.
  • For slower growth: publish at least every 3 days or 2-3 times per week.
  • For very slow growth: posting less frequently than 2-3 days per week is most appropriate for    Bloggers who maintain blogs as a hobby with no strategic plans for growth.
I have subscribed to Blogs who posted once or twice a week, which was fine, until suddenly I notice that I am becoming inundated with posts, as they have changed to daily postings!
No problemo, if the posts are short, however, medium to long, I cannot read on a daily basis, as I just do not have the time to read all the post, no matter how informative.  Oftentimes as the postings have increased, I notice the content is not as informative or as rich as previous, and I am sorry to say, it is then I click on unsubscribe.  This has lead me to become very selective, as to which Blogs, I subscribe to. Every now and then I do a fine tune of all those I wish to continue subscribing to.
Shame - but a Blogger has to find the balance between quality and frequency.

If I have not heard from a Blogger for sometime, either through the RSS feeds or e-mail subscriptions, I tend to pop over to their site and check to see the frequency of their posting. If they have not posted for sometime eg. for a month,  I will unsubscribe or stop following that Blog,  as it appears they do not appear to be serious about their subject.
That is my personal opinion and that is something that I am quite conscious others may believe of me, when I do not post often on my Blog(s), especially on my inspirational site, where my posts on The Faith Lounge  tend to be lengthy, yet informative, but not regular. (for now!)
Check out this great post of Joshua Becker over at Becoming Minimalist, where he confirms a number of my thoughts on the frequency of Blogging and why he decided not to post daily.

Six Reason Why Revealing Online Income Works

When I first entered the blogosphere, I was rather puzzled at why some high income earning bloggers, felt the need to regularly reveal their online income. To subject their income details to the scrutiny of a microscope, accompanied by pictures of their well earned cheques or Clickbank or Paypal statements.

I slowly began to realise, after reading many blogs, that the bloggers who succumb to the urge to bare all, really are genuine honest people, who passionately want to share their knowledge and principles with others. The aim -  to help others escape from their often mundane 9-5 routine, and to have the wonderful freedom to follow their passion(s).

I have now discovered that sharing income details are a good idea for the following reasons:-
  • It is extremely useful to see the mix and variety of methods utilised to earn a living from blogging.

  • It is great to see proof that what is being taught, is actually being practiced by the author of a very successful blog.

  • Most people are motivated by the true success of others.

  • Proof that great results come from hard work.

  • Successful Blogs are inspirational.

  • It can be done and anyone can do it!
Following is the link to a great blogger, who will inspire you, whether you are a newbie or seasoned blogger.

I am sure you will enjoy reading the success and failures of Pat Flyn, over at the Smart Passive Income Blog.   He publicizes his income, each month, in a very instructional way and always finishes his reports with what he himself, has actually learned throughout the month.

I would call it a Bloggers toolkit.

I am so impressed, as she has thought of absolutely everything.

I do wish this list had been available when I started blogging as it would have saved me quite a lot of time trawling the net. Never mind, I am still using it to improve my sites.

I do hope you find it useful, in fact you will find it more than useful!!

The Importance of Taglines

I  have been interested recently in taglines - what they are and why are they needed?.

They  can be bewildering to those who do not quite understand their importance.

A website's tagline must explain what the company does and what makes it unique among competitors.

The following articles will get you started on your road to branding your business.

Utilising PLR Articles for Blogging

What is PLR

Private label rights is a concept similar to reselling, but the merchant is permitted to modify the product to fit his or her needs.

Typical PLR products are articles, reports, eBooks, and auto responders. This kind of content is used for the purpose of allowing multiple buyers to invest in the content with free rein to alter and use it by claiming authorship of it. It is typically used in online affiliate marketing systems.
